Upak Italia and thereabout

01.01.2008
Italy, Converting

The commitment of the Italian Graphics, Paper, Cardboard and
Converting Machine Builders Association (Acimga) is continuing in its support of Italian concerns in the segment in encouraging them to expand abroad allowing them to play a lead role on the most strategic markets, Russia featuring high among the same. Trip to Moscow - First and foremost, a reminder of the “supporting” role performed by the Italian association within the 16th edition of Upakovka/Upak Italia, main show for the Russian segment as far as packaging and converting technology is concerned. Scheduled Moscow 29th January to February 1st, the event is organized by Messe Düsseldorf along with Centrexpo. As ever there will be a broad presence of international exhibitors (covering around two thirds of the exhibition area); and as usual the Italian suppliers (over 90) will be well represented, over an area of around 2000 sq m of floorspace.
Dates to remember - Within Upakovka/Upak Italia, January 29th will feature the award ceremony of the competition “Italian Printing & Converting Technology Award Russia”, born out of the cooperation between ICE and Acimga. Having reached its second edition, the competition will select the best Russian theses in the field of technologies for printing and converting of packaging, rated by a jury of professors belonging to the different corpuses, coordinated by the Moscow print university. The winning student will be hosted in Italy, where they will be able to visit (as well as the historic cities) some of the most important concerns.
The same day, as well as that both the press conferences to present Grafitalia/Converflex and Ipack-Ima (Milan, 24th-28th May 2009) both the seminar “Technologies of print and converting: the excellence of Made in Italy”.
The latter encounter, organised by Acimga, will see the participation of Guido Corbella, secretary general of the association, and professors Kusmin and Tsiganenko, respectively president of the Russian printers association and rector of the Print University, Moscow. This will be followed by technological talks held by companies the calibre of Acigraf, Cerutti, CMR and Uteco. An ever open invitation - But also after Upakovka/Upak Italia,
Acimga will “stay” in Moscow with its high profile. It has in fact inaugurated its new permanent offices in the heart of the Russian capital, close to the Red Square, near the prestigious Packaging Museum. On this count, it should be said that the Musei Upakovki well deserves a visit: it in fact hosts a good chunk of Russian history “written” on packaging, labels and containers of all types
and materials. A history in which over the last decades, Italian industry has also played a leading role.
