Durst, Zünd and Tic Tac: Protagonists at Digital Printing & Packaging Forum

On occasion of the meeting Digital Printing & Packaging Forum, which took place within Inprinting 2007, an important showcase dedicated to file management, digital printing and graphics applications for company communication, also the workshop “Digital Printing from De­si­gning up to Production on Demand” was held.
The meeting, which aimed at analysing the packaging market evolution towards the adoption of digital printing, was chaired by three outstanding market players: Durst Phototechnik Spa, a leading company in the manufacture of medium and large format printing systems, Tic Tac, a point of reference in the display stand market, and Logics, a technical partner of Zünd’s in the packaging sector. The speakers were Andrea Riccardi, sales Ma­na­ger of Sales Division Italy at Durst, Tiziano Tasca, Packaging Manager at Tic Tac and Gio­vanni Rioldi, Product Manager at Logics.
Packaging is a multisensory communication bridge between product and buyer. It includes signs and symbols, which have an individual and social meaning for the purchaser. Therefore, it cannot be regarded as a mere container. On the contrary, it is a way of communication capable of involving and stimulating our emotional sphere.
It often determines the consumer’s purchasing decision. Today, the packaging market must take up new challenges and, for this reason, it needs to adopt digital printing, which can meet its new requirements, as well as widen its business opportunities.
“The demand for short runs and the need of customizing products to enhance their look, are only some of the factors, which justify the adoption of digital printing, whose advantages are undisputed.
