First RIP to process XPS
30/05/2008
Global Graphics Software is presenting its new Harlequin Plus Server RIP Version 8.0 at drupa, 20 years after the company delivered its first Harlequin RIP to a customer. This is the first repro RIP available on the market since Windows Vista launched, that can natively process XPS format (XML Paper Specification) in addition to PDF, PCL and PostScript.
Global Graphics CTO Martin Bailey said: “As the first market participant, we support that XPS will play an important role for areas of commercial printing.” Global Graphics said further central features of its new server generation included noticeably more processing performance and functional novelties like multitrack rendering of PDF files.
