Screen demos hybrid SX

The Truepress Jet SX has been handed its world debut at drupa and Screen is running the press at 1,600 sheets per hour. The full-colour machine targets the B2 market and is effectively an offset press with inkjet technology. According to Screen European marketing manager Tim Taylor, the press is due to be commercially available early next year.

“It is early days and we are using Drupa to find out what the market wants,” he said. Taylor added that the Jet SX is capable of running at faster speeds and can print on both coated and uncoated paper. Screen has also developed new single pass inkjet assembly technology. The 600dpi UV head is being demonstrated at Drupa, running at 55m per hour.
