Sun Chemical and EskoArtwork join forces

Sun Chemical and EskoArtwork announced details of a new strategic partnership in colour and workflow at drupa after months of working together on an initiative with wide-ranging benefits for packaging customers.

The partnership involves producing colour-accurate proofs by integrating Sun’s SmartColour database of ink readings inside EskoArtwork’s Kaleidoscope colour management software.
The SmartColour database contains over 300,000 printed packaging colours, which can be achieved with inks from almost any supplier. SmartColour will extend the EskoArtwork ‘Colour for Everyone’ platform by enabling the whole packaging development workflow to use real colours printed with real inks on real substrates via relevant printing.

The solution will go on sale later in 2008, but can be seen on both firms’ booths (Sun: Hall 6, B75. EskoArtwork: Hall 8b, A23).
