UK commercial printer Central Colour signs for the Mitsubishi B1 press at the show
Central Colour has become the first European firm to invest in Mitsubishi’s new B1 sheetfed press, after coming to drupa to sign for its Diamond V3000 yesterday.
Andy Baxter, Central Colour joint managing director, said the machine represents “a giant leap for the company”.
He added: “We’ve been at full capacity for four or five months now and the Mitsubishi was leagues ahead of the competition.”
The Nottingham-based commercial printer will use the new machine to produce brochures and direct mail for clients that include Jaguar, Bentley and Land Rover. The company carries out runs of 500 up to quarter of a million and turns in around 30m impressions a year.
The new V3000 will be installed in October. “We always try and keep on top of things by investing every few years, this machine will help us do that,” Baxter added.
