The Komori team sealed deals for four presses to Asian and European customers

Komori’s drupa got off to a flying start with the Japanese manufacturer selling four B1 presses on the first day.

Hong Kong printer Prosperous Printing has added to its existing arsenal of Komori presses by investing nearly 2.5m Euros on three new B1 machines. The book printer opted for a Komori Lithrone LS440, LS540 and LS540 plus coater to help it carry out work that includes exporting print to the European and US markets.

The new machines will run alongside the company’s 20-strong Komori press battery.
Komori has also struck a deal with Peeters Publishing, Printing & Book Store for its eight-colour Lithrone S40P long perfector. It is the Belgium-based company’s first non-Heidelberg press for many years.

Luc Peeters, manager of Peeters Publishing, said: “Komori’s eight-colour B1 long perfector is a
well-established printing press that gives outstanding quality and flexibility at a competitive price.”
Peeters added: “This is a big investment for us but we have planned it carefully.
“It will increase our scientific and academic book printing capacity by 35 per cent and ultimately raise our turnover and profitability.”
