Burns: “We have sold almost all machines in our booth, even the new iGen4 machines”
Which was you best drupa?
This one is the best for Xerox because we launched our iGen4, and we offer a full range of products. In 2000, we started in the graphic arts printing industry and came from the office business.
What is so special about drupa and what is different to US shows?
The size and the amazing scale. You find every major supplier here. You can find the whole range of products and innovations of the industry. And of course, long time over which drupa takes place.
What is the main focus of your company at this show?
This year it is the drupa of applications. We learned a lot from drupa 2000, when we first started in the professional full-colour market. At that time, it was colour and B&W, then we focused on workflow and this year we offer our customers solutions to improve their value, each of them supporting our customers’ new business.
Have you sold machines already?
Yes – drupa is not only about having a good time, it is also business. So we have sold almost all machines based in our booth, even the new iGen4 machines.
You are known as a founder of electrophotography, but are now moving into inkjet. Do you think inkjet has the
potential to revolutionise print?
I think that inkjet has a big potential, especially our solvent inkjet, but I do not believe that it will cause a fundamental change to the printing industry.
Do you think large trade shows like drupa have a future?
Here is the place where you can see everything in one place, all developments and customers, so a show like drupa has a future.
