BOBST to reinforce its customer strategy and technical innovations at drupa 2012
At drupa 2012, BOBST will announce a series of enhancements to its existing product lines and services, designed to bring customers closer to a world of zero-faults, low waste and high productivity.
BOBST will also present the first results of its new Group Strategy, launched two years ago, which can be summarized as a focus on growth (in services and products for the medium-segment), on product platforms with new innovations, and the application of lean processes throughout the Group.
One Group. One Brand.
Bobst Group is organized into three business units: Sheet-fed, Web-fed, and Services. From 2012, the activities of these three business units will be united under one brand: BOBST. This will increase clarity for our customers, drastically improve communication channels and strengthen the organization.
Technical advances and innovation
Developing new technologies for the benefit of customers remains the main driver of the Group. At drupa 2012 innovations will be presented that apply major technology advances to a range of applications, all of which are unique to BOBST. These innovations will include
- quality control devices that check 100% of customers’ production, whether it is the print on a carton or the density of a metalized film;
- color matching systems that make setting a press an offline process, with the consequent saving in time;
- and new approaches for existing systems which reduce process waste, improve net production, or can cut make ready times by 10% or more.
In the arena of digital technology, BOBST will share with customers the company’s vision for digital solutions in packaging: from digital printing to converting.
For the Business Unit Sheet-fed, BOBST will address a wide range of markets from food packaging to pharma. The company will display machines with enhancements that will increase net outputs, reduce production costs and cut setting times, along with new developments for in-line processes that will help manufacturers ensure the delivery of “zero-fault” packaging.

For the Business Unit Web-fed, BOBST will showcase printing machines, laminating equipment and innovative process control systems that enable major productivity gains in equipment operation. These will include operator-oriented, waste-saving and eco-efficient technical solutions that enable the production of superior quality output at the lowest cost for the converter, and provide the competitive edge required to succeed in the marketplace.

For the Business Unit Services, BOBST will announce innovations that will deliver a more comprehensive framework for providing quick and effective marketing, sales and technical support to customers across the globe. BOBST will also deploy a new range of solutions to make local or remote inspection, and preventative & periodic maintenance, faster and more streamlined. Additionally, BOBST will launch a series of machine upgrade paths to improve productivity, sustainability, safety and the quality of users’ end products.
