Your copy of the 4th drupa ‘Global Trends’ report 2017

As a member of the drupa Expert Panel you participated in October 2016 in the fourth global survey of the state of the print industry. You were one of nearly 1200 senior decision makers that took part and made this survey valuable both globally and in terms of regional variations.

As you know, drupa 2016 was a great confidence boost for the global industry. The survey in which you participated last October gave broad statistical support for that confidence. Such a positive mood is not universal, either in terms of market sectors or geographical regions. Whilst Functional and Packaging print are in expansive mode, Publishing print is in a more defensive mode with Commercial print somewhere in-between. In regional terms, the Middle East has chronic problems undermining performance and Africa and South/Central America remain fragile. Nevertheless, despite the slow recovery from the 2007/8 recession and the impact of digital communications, things are looking up for print.
