The interactive paper art installation at Entrance South

One of the standout highlights of drupa 2024 was the interactive paper art installation at Entrance South, created by students from the Academy of Fashion & Design (AMD) in Düsseldorf. As part of their Brand and Communication Design program, eight teams participated in a competition led by Prof. Martin Breuer to develop innovative concepts around the theme of “anamorphosis.”

The result was an impressive design object: 102 square panels forming an 11 x 8-meter interactive hotspot that actively engaged visitors and exhibitors. Participants were photographed and their images projected onto the artwork, creating a fusion of analog and digital worlds.

The winning team, Theresa Meier and Elodie König, described their concept, ANALOGE DIGITALISIERUNG, as a visual translation of drupa’s claim – we create the future. “The paper becomes a canvas, people become part of the installation,” explained Meier.
