NFC - The link between print and digital

NFC (Near Field Communication) is revolutionizing the direct marketing industry and taking the digitization and personalization of print products to a new level. A highlight project at PRINT & DIGITAL CONVENTION 2023 demonstrates the possibilities of NFC: brand partners created a personalized invitation card that was equipped with an NFC chip. The card led recipients to a personalized website with a teaser video and information about the convention. NFC offers several advantages over QR codes, including faster connection to the website, increased anti-counterfeiting and invisible integration into designs, among others.

More sustainability, diversity and creativity- how digital printing is revolutonizing the textile market

Digital printing enables print-on-demand and the avoidance of overproduction. This means that small and medium-sized companies can also enter the competitive textile market without being forced to buy large quantities. Digitalization also facilitates the processing of fabrics and enables leaner and more sustainable production processes. Just-in-time production and targeted manufacturing of collections are supported by the new digital options.

Environmental labels - between greenwashing and responsible action

Environmental labels are used to identify environmentally friendly and sustainable products, similar to energy or organic certificates. The more than 100 different labels evaluate different aspects such as resource protection, chemical use, CO2 emissions and environmental management. Print service providers and their customers should inform themselves about the multitude of certificates in order to make an informed decision for a product with environmentally friendly properties. In our article, we present nine environmental labels and their evaluation criteria:
