14,905 trade visitors from 23 countries and regions - Southeast Asia, India, China and beyond
126 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions presented best-in-industry solutions
30 September 2022, Singapore – The 3-in-1 co-located events of INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT under the banner of The Indonesian International Plastics, Packaging and Printing Exhibitions, closed its doors earlier this month on a highly positive note as it exceeded expectations with 14,905 trade visitors from 23 countries and regions. As the first in-person edition of the exhibitions after a 4-year hiatus due to the pandemic, INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT proved to be the exhibitions of choice for the 126 exhibiting companies from 14 countries and regions which included China, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Singapore and South Korea among others.
As the first physical edition post pandemic, exhibitors and visitors were delighted to get back to doing business face to face, and business was back at the top of the agenda. Over four days, the exhibitions spanning the entire end-to-end supply chain for the packaging, printing and plastics sectors brought together a largely local visitor base as well as visitors from the key markets of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam – all representing a range of industries, from automotive, food and beverage, manufacturing, to the printing sectors.
According to Jeffrey Tan, Regional Sales Director, Collin Lab & Pilot Solutions GmbH, the exhibitions were well-attended and “we are very satisfied with our participation and being able to meet with our regular customers in-person, as well as meet new potential customers.” Similarly, Aaron Kim, Overseas Sales Manager at INDIS Air Co., Ltd from South Korea, expressed his satisfaction and said: “We are very pleased and met our participation objectives, particularly acquiring new customers and strong sales leads.”
Jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and local partner, PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (Wakeni), the exhibitions featured a cross-sector platform serving the end-to-end value chain, from raw materials, machinery, ancillary equipment, through to industry services. As one of the region’s leading procurement platforms, INDOPLAS, INDOPACK and INDOPRINT were last held in 2018. Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Dűsseldorf Asia, said: “After a long disruption since the last edition and what has been a challenging period for many industries, it was very satisfying to be able to hold a physical exhibition and to see a dynamic show floor busy with in-person business activities. The positive footfall from Indonesia and the region was more than we had anticipated and is a testament to how ready the industries are to get back to business and the relevance of the Indonesian market for international companies.”
As a worldwide solution provider for reliable and innovative glue application and quality assurance systems, specialising in applications such as folding carton and corrugated board production, end-of-line packaging, print finishing, German-headquartered exhibitor Baumer India Pvt Ltd remarked that the exhibitions proved a great platform for brand building and gaining industry leads to the Indonesian market, and “we are very happy with our participation and the networking opportunities,” said Vinaykumar Kulkarni, Manager, International Sales (SEA). Echoing the sentiment and the positive business leads garnered, Serena Huang, Head of Sales, Dai A Industry, Vietnam – which specialises in manufacturing solutions for fillers, additives and colourings for plastics, said: “Everything went well and it was a good experience for us. We had some promising leads we look forward to following-up with.”
Commenting on the optimistic response from both exhibitors and trade visitors, Mrs Rini Sumardi, Managing Director, PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI), said this demonstrated the significance of Indonesia and the 3-in-1 exhibitions as a choice platform for the packaging, printing, and plastics sectors. “We are very pleased and heartened by the positive feedback. Market prospects and developments in Indonesia in the near to mid-term are very promising – the outlook in the next couple of years is particularly bright as the government pushes forward with initiatives such as Indonesia’s digital roadmap through to 2024 which is aimed at accelerating the country’s digital transformation agenda.” With the RPJMN (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional), the latest five-year medium-term plan, which aims to develop infrastructure, education and healthcare – “this provides many opportunities for overseas investment, as well as opportunities for local companies,” she added.
The next edition of The Indonesian International Plastics, Packaging and Printing Exhibitions, will take place from 4 to 7 September 2024, at JI Expo, Jakarta, Indonesia. Space bookings are now open.
