Our products

Product category: Doctor blades

PrimeBlade® 700 series

The PrimeBlade® 700 series is our ceramic coated doctor blade, developed by combining our unique surface grinding and special surface treatment technology. This improves the coating adhesive bond and wear resistance compared to existing coated products. It can even be an alternative for PrimeBlade® 900 Nano I blade users, especially for rotogravure printers.

The high grade steel together with the special ceramic particle surface coating technology gives a very low doctor blade tip contact friction, enhanced lifetime, and gives an extraordinarily clean wipe. It reduces the brittleness and cracking risk in the ceramic coating area, and lessens the risk of blade damage due to mechanical impact. Also, due to the refined steel and extra fine ceramic particles used, it reduces the ink contamination that causes higher wear on chrome cylinders.

PrimeBlade Type 700 advantages:
• Longer life wear resistance
• Perfect for abrasive inks
• Reduced friction between the blade and the cylinder
• Optimized print quality
• Less adjustments of the doctor blade
• Reduced printing problems in gravure, such as lines, streaks and hazing
• Wears down in smaller particles

Specifications:
• 0,15 mm – 0,20 mm
• Straightness: 1,0 mm/3000 mm
• Hardness: 850 – 900 HV (coated surface only)
• Different blade edge profiles

PrimeBlade® PrimeSeals

As a supplement to the doctor blades, PrimeBlade Sweden AB also supplies the high quality PrimeSeal ink chamber end seals.

The PrimeSeal end seals come in many material types and each type is tailored to the customer needs. It is of most importance to use a high quality end seal to prevent the chamber from leaking and to avoid end seal friction issues. This to be able to use the end seal for longer runs or multiple jobs, especially important if a long life doctor blade is used in the chamber system. The PrimeSeal end seal products are made for optimum fit in the chamber and perfect seal against the anilox.

PrimeBlade® Angle Gauge

PrimeBlade are now proud to offer a tool that helps gravure printers to better be able to know the set doctor blade angle.

The angle gauge is produced in a size that the operator can keep it in their pocket and is handy to use when changing doctor blades.

The PrimeBlade Angle Gauge comes in two sizes. One from circumference 300mm to 785mm and the other from circumference 785mm to >6.280mm.

The gauges are delivered in a plastic pouch for protection.

PrimeBlade® 900 Nano series

New revolutionary patented metallugic treated steel blades. We´re the only supplier of these exclusive and incomparable blades.

We developed them together with our partners in Nano technology because printers were looking for a solution to increase productivity, printing quality and reduce downtime due to the lack of blade longevity. The latest Nano technology has been used to optimize the properties and performance of the steel.

The blade will outlast any non-ceramic blade on the market, without any of the brittleness associated with long life blades. The friction towards the cylinder or anilox roll is reduced by approx 40–60%. Printing quality is significantly increased. Treatments do not have any of the harmfull environ-mental side effects that the commonly used ceramic and nickel coatings have.

PrimeBlade® Type 900 Nano advantages:

• Longer life wear resistance

• Perfect towards abrasive inks, such as white inks etc.

• Less adjustment of the doctor blade chamber

• Breaks down in much smaller particles

• Reduction of 40–60% friction on the cylinder

• Maximized print quality

• Cleaner wipe

• No ceramic particles involved

• Less particles sticking to the blade

About us

Company details

PrimeBlade Sweden AB is a global manufacturer and supplier of Doctor Blades for flexo, gravure, offset printers, and coating applications. Together with our Swedish raw material supplier and end users the doctor blade was produced to improve production quality, blade life, and to increase machine speeds.

Our Doctor Blades are available in all different edge types, standard thicknesses and widths. They are supplied in 100 meter / 328 foot rolls in easy-to-use cassettes, or cut in lengths to meet your needs.

The pre-ground blades have radius-ground edges, enhancing blade functionality. The blade and cylinders last longer than conventional blades. The pressure exerted by the blade on the cylinders is constant, eliminating uneven blade wear.

The company was formed by a dedicated team with long experience from the printing, doctor blade and steel industry. Our goal is to help our clients improve their business by continuosly developing new and innovative products for them and delivering renowned service.

The printing, coating and packaging industries demands are constantly increasing to optimize blade lifetimes and achieve higher and more consistent quality. To meet these demands we have developed a new technology for grinding and polishing, XM-Technology. This technology optimizes the lamella properties and tolerances.

Our wide range of services, support and advice around the world includes:

• technical printing support

• analysis of printing problems

• information to optimize printing / coating performance

• recommendations on best suited materials for production needs
