Bookbinding tester BIND CONTROL
On the basis of the pull test BIND CONTROL measures and quantifies the force required to pull a leaf from a bound book. The device allows to assess the performance of perfect binding machines and to evaluate the block stability as a parameter of the book block quality.
The book block trimmed to the test size will be positioned on the roof-shaped rest with the leaf to be tested inserted in the slot provided for this purpose. When the test is started the sheet is gripped and extracted from the adhesive binding.
As a scale of the pull-out strength the measured force per centimetre is indicated on the display. Furthermore, various statistical analysis and quality classifications can be determined. As an option the results can be exported via an interface to a PC for documentation.
The alcohol concentration of the damping solution can fast and easily be checked with the hand-held IPA measuring device. Samples of the damping solution can be taken at any accessible point of the damping cycle.
The measurement is based on the extraction of gas from a sample taken of the damping solution. The precise and selective measuring of the volume concentration of the isopropyl alcohol (IPA) contained in the sample is effected with a special gas sensor.
Uncomplicated check of the IPA content of the damping solution directly on the spot.
The precise determination of the IPA content avoids overdosing thus reducing your costs.
Samples of your damping solution can be taken at all accessible points of the damping process.
The battery-operated hand-held measuring device makes you independent from the mains.
The IPA volume concentration is measured with a resolution of 0.1 %.
Corrective calculations regarding the temperature and density of the damping solution are not necessary.
With the packing gauge S you measure the height of blanket or plate over the bearer ring with impression cylinder widths smaller than 350 mm.
Packing Gauge AMG M With the Packing Gauge M you measure the height of the blanket or the printing plate over the bearer or measuring rings on the offset printing press.
Packing Gauge AMG L With the Packing Gauge L you measure the height difference between between forme cylinder surface (varnish, flexo- and letterpress printing) and measuring ring surface as well as the height of the blanket or the printing plate over the bearer or measuring ring.
Your advantages by handling of the Package Gauge
Light, easy and simple to operate
Simple calibration and fast measuring operation
Digital display (switchable to mm or inches), readable in every position (with hold-function)
Immediate display of the height over bearer or measuring ring, with correct mathematical signs
Your Advantages at applications of the Packing Gauge
Applicable both, for blanket and plate cylinders with any diameters
Applicable also with restricted access to cylinders
No damage to the blanket or the printing plate during measurement
During the measuring operation no shifting or rolling of the gauge is necessary, only positioning and reading
For parallelism between gauge and cylinder axes, visual alignment is sufficient
Pressure differences while positioning the gauge do not affect the measuring value
Packing gauges are used for height, depth or level measurements
Measurement with the LUCHS IV is more objective than the conventional vernier evaluation due to the automatic evaluation of special register marks, considerably faster and more efficient than a hand-held magnifier, even more exact than everything that has been supposed to be exact in connection with the evaluation of the register accuracy of a printing press, so far. Worldwide! The system is used for the adjustment of machines, which handle plane figures.
The patented register mark makes possible
the simultaneous measuring the register of colour combinations in longitudinal and lateral direction, the simultaneous measuring in one measuring operation of all longitudinal or lateral register marks on a printing press with up to 10 printing units,to carry out a measuring operation in less than 2 seconds,to move the measuring head into a new measuring position while the fully automatic evaluation of the preceding measurement is still going on.
There is the option for the application of special measuring elements with structured, doubling-free measuring lines.
The LUCHS IV control software allows
"Automatic Measuring", meaning fast and uncomplicated acquisition of measuring values by automatic recognition of colour, measuring position and measuring sequence,
automatic generation of different user-defined measuring protocols in clearly structured diagram form.
Small and easy-to-operate device to adjust and to control hard/soft paired inking and damping rollers.
The Contact Zone Gauge NIP CON gives fast and reliably information over the width of the contact zone and thus over the pressure between hard and soft rollers. It makes a valuable contribution for quality assurance, especially during assembly work and service of inking and damping units. It is used during the adjustment of cylinders.
The measuring device has been designed for in the printing industry typical rubber hardnesses, typical thicknesses of rubber coatings and typical roller diameters. It is easy to handle: Just position the two sensors between the rollers, turn pressure on and NIP CON supplies measured values for left and right. Very helpful for the roller adjustment is the "nominal value control light". There is simply no easier way to adjust rollers.
Signals of sensors are evaluated that are positioned between hard/soft paired rollers. The sensors are positioned by means of an on/off function or with the press in inching operation. The rollers do not move during the measuring operation. The width of the contact zone is digitally indicated as a measure commonly used in the printing industry for the adjustment of the rollers. The adjustment and control of nominal values are easy with our optical "nominal value control light".
Together with SID Leipzig (Sächsisches Institut für die Druckindustrie GmbH) PITSID develops measuring and testing devices for the graphic arts industry.
