Towers

The adphos Tower is a truly modular system. Designers can create a high performance, extremely cost effective solution while enabling the integration of digital monochrome and/or process color inkjet printing with traditional offset web presses or finishing lines. This allows personalized imprinting and makes the traditional web a hybrid press.

The towers may also be used (in conjunction with the appropriate inkjet technology) to create a stand-alone digital press - both mono and process color. The key is the designer/ creator defines the components that adphos puts into the solution, thus creating the needed functionality and excellence at an affordable price!

With an increasingly price sensitive marketplace, a print provider can no longer purchase equipment to deliver the whole spectrum of potential requirements at once. The company must purchase the correct specification of equipment for today´s needs in the print plant - it is now for the solution designer to specify what functions are required and purchased.

It is with this thought in mind that the engineering and design teams within the adphos Group have created the adphos Tower. A fully modular solution allowing extremely economical and utilitarian solutions, mid-range competitive solutions with wider functionality and fully functioning systems for higher productivity.

Based on the concept which uses standard building blocks for all models, the adphos Tower allows full modularity and upgradability.

Thus the range allows for a single rail, single-headed system without the need for drying newspapers, up to a full width fully process color duplex system running at speeds in excess of 600 mpm (2,000 fpm) and beyond.

The base Towers
A printhead carriage with paper path and the number of rails needed to support the printheads to be purchased. A supporting frame with paper path. The adphos drying module(s) specified.

Options Allowed
Web guides, tension control, web cleaners, extra dryers, camera system mounts and systems, pre & post-coat modules and dryer, various control solutions (Siemens/Rockwell/ Mitsubishi), CE certification, etc.

Platten Based Transport (PBT)

adphos PBTs (Platen Based Transports) are companion products for x-y inkjet plotters. PBTs allow for “production” drying, sintering and curing in a lab scale device. PBTs are available in two configurations with both stationary and motor driven platens. Both systems include vacuum plate (and air hold down) to maintain product integrity during processing.

The NIR126-550 is a compact drying/heating/sintering solution ideal for web or sheet applications for drying widths ≤ 20” and is ideal for monochrome or process color inkjet applications ≤ 500 fpm with flexibility, affordability, lower acquisition and operating costs compared to other systems.

Flexibility for up to 20” Web or Sheet Applications
The NIR126-550 offers a host of different options to meet almost any requirement or application including the ability to operate several NIR126-550s in parallel when additional power and performance are required. Options include HMI (Human Machine Interface), Individual Emitter Zooning, Dryer Error Feedback and Exhaust Kit. The Exhaust kit removes water vapor from the area to prevent recondensation onto substrates.

For web applications, the NIR126-550 includes an air cooled integrated back reflector. The back reflector increases efficiency and performance by up to 25% as the adphosNIR® energy passes through substrates and is reflected back to the ink.
