Book blocks are pre-glued and offset-stacked to facilitate operator handling and transportation to the next finishing phase.

With its innovative processing (patent pending) and on the fly adjustment of cross and vertical perforation position, along with dynamic length cutting and folding, Libra One supports mixed impositions in the same roll with on the fly change from 2up to 3up, fully automated and at speed.

In a unique feature of Tecnau’s Libra One, waste pages are minimized by reducing the size of the last signatures. Depending on the number of pages of each book, the last signatures may be shortened in length to 8 page (2up) and 12 page (3up) signatures, minimizing the number of white pages at the end of each book.

The entire process is controlled via 2D Datamatrix code printed on each signature. This information drives the system and keeps control of the product’s integrity. A touch screen display starts and controls the system, setting up every module and displaying errors and alarms.

TC 1750

Tecnau has applied advanced technology to the standard tractor hole punch / fanfold perforating product. With this advanced TC 1750, operators no longer need to swap out heavy gears to change perforation spacing – the operator simply chooses the appropriate length on the touch-screen control panel.

Two tractor hole punch wheels are standard; two more wheels may be added for two-stream pinfeed punching. Punch wheels can be bypassed if fanfold perforating only is required. The optional TC 1707 MPD mark printing device is available for either model, to allow synchronization with certain printers that do not support registration to tractor holes.

In a unique offering from Tecnau, the TC 1750 may be configured either before or after the high speed digital printer. The new post-printer configuration eliminates any possible risk of contamination of printing heads from paper dust generated by the punching or perforating process. Whether before or after the printer, the TC 1750 is equipped with a safe vaccum system to clean the web and prevent paper dust to be transfered to the following process.

Stack 2330

The Stack 2330 system for color printers operates in-line or near-line with web-fed digital printers at speeds up to 550 ft/min. The system delivers 1-up, 2-up or 3-up offset stacks with variable full bleed cuts utilizing the Buffer 530, Cutter c23 and Stacker s30 modules. The optional Merger m20 allows 2-up print to be delivered in a single collated stack ready for inserting.

The Stack 2330 system incorporates SmoothWeb™ motion technology to gently transport paper from the printer to stacked output. The Buffer 530 accumulates the web and weaves it through rollers that rise and fall, filling the buffer and ensuring that stack deliveries will never stop the printer.

The Cutter c23 has dual rotary knives to sheet the web using single cut or variable double strip cut for full bleed color printing. Center slitting is also performed for 2-up or 3-up print streams and instantaneously offsets the entire web horizontally to separate jobs or book blocks before sheets enter the stacker.

Following the Cutter c23, sheets enter the shingling section of the Stacker s30 where they are gently decelerated and formed into a stack. This patent pending design maximizes control of the sheets and enables use of a wide range of media at high speeds.
