About us

Company details

Laakirchen Papier AG is part of the international Heinzel Group that ranks with its subsidiaries Zellstoff Pöls AG and AS Estonian Cell among the largest producers of market pulp in Central and Eastern Europe. The Group’s trading division includes Wilfried Heinzel AG, a globally active pulp and paper trading company, and Europapier AG, the leading paper merchant in the CEE region.

Within the group, the Laakirchen site specialises in the production and advancement of supercalendered, uncoated natural papers (SC Paper) for the European market.

Laakirchen Papier AG produces SC paper, a high-gloss publication paper for magazines, catalogues and printed advertising material. For decades the Laakirchen mill has been the quality leader among SC paper producers.

Our paper production amounts to an annual 550 000 tons, manufactured on two paper machines PM 10 and PM 11. The most modern manufacturing plant and highly motivated employees ensure a pioneering role in this sector. Depending on the field of application and printing method, the products have to meet differing requirements. Ongoing product optimization and new developments ensure tomorrow‘s success. In addition to know-how and experience, if nothing else, it is the state-of-the-art machinery and the compatible infrastructure at the location which create the conditions for our quality paper.

Environmental responsibility
Environmental pollution is minimised at all levels of production by consistent ecological measures, pioneering technology and the personal commitment of every employee.
