The story of BIAGIONI S.r.l. might as well begin with a fairytale-like "Once upon a time…", so steeped it is in traditions that have been carefully passed down from father to son. The companys roots can be traced back as far as 1920, when Giuseppe Biagioni, the current owners grandfather, felt the “vocation” to open a small village workshop.
The first company, "Officina Meccanica Figli di G. Biagioni", was established in 1950. It was in those years that the first knife-edge paper bag making machine was built, entirely from hand made parts. During the following years, the company kept abreast with the times and also kept itself well-informed regarding new technological solutions, which it was always able to introduce and test very promptly, thanks to its efforts directed towards the design and construction stages.
In the 60s, paper bag machine technology underwent a general change: sheet metal side plates started being made of cast iron, mechanical parts started being fitted with oil bath housings, and several improvements were made so as to enable the processing of paper with smaller grammages. Flexographic printers were also integrated into paper bag making machines at around this time.
1972 saw the launch of the world's first tear strip system machine, following a careful production test lasting two years. The years to come also resulted in the achievement of yet more targets, among which are the creation of the EI636 tear strip system paper bag making machine with 4-colour flexographic printing unit, the EBP350 paper bag making machine for paper pouches, corrugation mechanisms, machines for re-winders and machines used in the food sector. The BE 135-6, 6 colour, central drum based reel to reel flexographic printing unit for plastic film was produced in 1980.
The real turning point, however, was in 1990: all paper bag machines underwent a modification whereby all gears were replaced with transmission pulleys and toothed belts, that offered a most silent operation, greater precision and better accessibility and ease for cleaning and maintenance operations. To meet increasing printing-related demands, a screen printing system was also developed. The companys directors Enrico Biagioni and Renzo Gonnella gave the company its current appellation in 1997. In that same year, the knife-edge paper bag machine ALBA 91C proved itself to be a great success, as evidenced by the results obtained by the companys client SEVEN of Perugia.
1998 saw the creation of the VICTORIA BG 98, an electronic cutting tear strip machine, which, after a year of careful redesign, became the VICTORIA ELECTRONIC, a revolutionary machine, which is currently being used by two of the largest paper bag manufacturers: NicoIetti of Montecatini and Mantucci of Perugia. The only characters in this "fairy tale" are Enrico Biagioni and Renzo Gonnella. These are their weapons: a powerful Hewlett · Packard workstation with constantly up to date software, which allows the direct design of all machines produced on site. All the parts from which the machines are made are marked with a code that ensures a perfect interchangeability both during assembly as well as during repair. The continuous contact with clients allows them to examine the changing needs of the sector in real time, and to implement the necessary improvements accordingly. Biagioni offers its customers a complete service, ensuring the delivery of the machine through secure transportation, and unloading and installation according to layouts previous agreed with the client. Biagioni also offer testing and setting up services, apart from after-sales service and distribution of all replacement parts for their machines. We vow that there are no spells to be heard of in this tale. The Nicoletti paper bag factory cries VICTORY!
Nicoletti, a leading preformed paper industry company based in central Italy, strengthened the confidence shown in the Officine Biagioni series through its purchase of the new VICTORIA ELECTRONIC. The paper bag/preformed paper product company Nicoletti is based in the province of Pistoia, with a 4000 square metre factory and a further 14,000 square metre production area. A well-known name in the paper industry for over thirty years, the Sacchettificio Nicoletti produces a wide range of tear strip bags and envelopes, with or without gusset, with a flat bottom and even with a cross and double sheet bottom. The company also produces printed paper products, tablecloths and placemats for both family and industrial use. The continuous research carried out for advanced technologies on the one hand, and the years-long experience in and attention to the use of environmentally friendly materials on the other hand, ensure that production takes place with very low pollution levels, guaranteeing optimal environmental balance. The production lines will soon be complemented with the new VlCTORIA ELECTRONIC model by Biagioni S.r.l., while Nicoletti are planning to carry out a complete replacement of their production lines with Biagioni electronic machines in the future.
