SurfaceCAM for LS Anilox and Engraving measurements

The SurfaceCAM has been designed to address the embossing and decor market where coarser structures demand a 3D measurement for shape and depth analysis.

There are many variables to control in a press shop and therefore the printer has historically adjusted inks on press to achieve the density of colour required. One critical variable is the performance of the gravure cylinder and up until now, the engraving quality or condition has been unknown to the printer, making it impossible to know whether the engraving or cell volumes are matched and optimised for press set up.

The SurfaceCAM Engraving QC simply and easily visually checks the engraving quality and measures the volume, depth and geometrical shape of the cells and provides viable and practical information for the gravure cylinder engraver and printer.

AniCAM and Flexoplate QC

The AniCAM Flexoplate QC has been developed for 3D readings of Flexoplates and Sleeves. In addition to the standard measurements like dot percentage, Screen count, angle, dot size and distance it also allows to measure relief depth and dot geometries - especially interesting with direct laser engraved elastomer plates and sleeves (i.g. undercut).

A new feature automatically detects analog and digital dots, resulting in an extreme productive transmissive and reflective analysis.

AniCAM and Gravure QC

Gravure QC
Why Gravure Cylinder Quality Control?

There are many variables to control in a press shop and therefore the printer has historically adjusted inks on press to achieve the density of colour required. One critical variable is the performance of the gravure cylinder and up until now, the engraving quality or condition has been unknown to the printer, making it impossible to know whether the engraving or cell volumes are matched and optimised for press set up.

Gravure QC with AniCAM simply and easily visually checks the engraving quality and measures the volume of the cells and records the data to provide viable and practical information for the gravure cylinder engraver and printer

AniCAM + Anilox QC and AMS Anilox Management System

Why Anilox Quality Control?

State of the art 3D scanning technology for today’s flexographic printer.

The AniCAM measures anilox volume, depth, width, wall, screen count, angles and consistency.

Easy to use with no variation in reading between operators
High repeatability and accuracy
Light and portable in a strong carry case
Electronic knife for enhanced cell profile analysis
3D view to identify plugged and damaged cells
Export data to AMS or spreadsheet applications

There are many variables to control in a press shop and therefore the printer has historically adjusted inks on press to achieve the density of colour required. One critical variable is the anilox roller and up until now, the true value of the anilox inventory has been unknown to the printer, making it impossible to know whether the roll volumes are matched and optimised for press set up.

The Troika AniCAM simply and easily measures the volume of the anilox and archives the information to provide a viable and practical solution for the flexo printer.

An optional database application is available to build anilox roll and wear history based on roll measurements on an on-going basis.

Every time a roll is measured the data is transferred into the AMS database, which can then provide reports giving detailed information on the condition of each roll in the entire printer’s inventory.

At Drupa Troika introduces a new system named CorruCAM - especially designed for the corrugated market. The system on-press measurements of Anilox rolls - achieved by a special designed magnetic holding system.

About us

Company details

Troika Systems is a global leader in the design and development of state of the art quality control 3D analysis management systems for the print industry.
The company has designed and manufactured the AniCAM™ and SurfaceCAM™ 3D scanning microscope and management systems and the Plate to Print HD analysis tool for quick and easy analysis of the final print or flexo plates.

Working with converters across the flexo, gravure, engraving and embossing industries, Troika partners print companies to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Its solutions have been developed to improve productivity by reducing ‘make ready’ time, reduce consumables waste in the press shop and drive up consistency in production. As a result, brand owner satisfaction and loyalty is boosted, along with converter competitiveness and profitability.

The company has its headquarters in Wiltshire, UK, and has been operating for more than 20 years. Many of the Troika staff have been with the company for over 15 years, providing customers in the security, flexible packaging, label and corrugated print and packaging markets with vast experience and support in delivering quality control solutions.

The Troika team are committed, passionate and service focused and understand the needs of the fast-paced print world.
