In Lieu of DRUPA

PV16: A Look at the Modern Client

In Lieu of DRUPA…

With DRUPA postponed until April 2021, we thought we’d share what we’d be doing if we were in Düsseldorf right now, which would be giving introductory demos of the latest in PrintVis to the thousands of passers-by at the world’s largest print industry trade show. Our latest release, PV16 was officially launched last week, right on time for DRUPA! Alas, DRUPA wasn’t there to share in the festivities. Not to worry – we had a nice series of webinars this week, presented exclusively to PrintVis end customers around the world, where we highlighted some of the newest features of PrintVis and how we continue to develop our world-proven print MIS on the equally established and formidable base of Microsoft Dynamics – once NAV, now Business Central.

So, you own a print business and you’re in the market for a new press. You’ve made the investment to attend DRUPA and experience the latest technologies from Heidelberg and Kimori, from Roland and Bobst. The event is so immense it’s practically impossible to see everything, even in a 10-day span. One afternoon you saunter into a quieter area, “DRUPA Next Age” they call it, DNA for short. This is an enclave of innovation, full of established global players and startups alike. There in Hall 7, in a humble booth, you approach an illuminated bee logo, and a friendly face invites you to take a look at the system. You weren’t initially considering new software when you decided to go to DRUPA, but you’re being told this is a complete solution that will run any size or type of print company, on a powerful Microsoft platform. Now you’re recalling the painfully slow, non-intuitive legacy system that your entire team hates, and also your separate accounting program, which served well when you were just a 5-person shop with a mere handful of regular customers, 20 years ago. Twenty years ago. Now your wheels are turning…

A perfect place to start would be the look – and feel – of the system itself. Let’s check out PrintVis on the new Modern Client from Microsoft.

PrintVis on INKISH TV's Learn With Us - Debut Presentation

In this Learn with Us session Kit Tomshøj, and Michael Bradley tell to explain how to calculate prices. The presentation is a great balance between basic knowledge and a few examples of how you would do it in case you have the PrintVis ERP/MIS solution. After the presentation, CEO Kasper Tomshøj also joins for the Q&A session - where we, among other things, discuss the newly developed AI module developed to suggest prices to customers. Great inspiration.

PrintVis Returns to drupa

Like the FIFA World Cup of the print industry, drupa is finally back in 2020 after a 4-year wait. And PrintVis will be there once again, in our humble yet proud little stand, ready to show our Microsoft-powered solution to the hundreds of thousands of visitors, fellow exhibitors and prospective partners from all around the world. For this event we are in the new DNA – drupa next age – section, a special new area that puts a spotlight on innovation. We love innovation and we know you do too – we’ll be in Hall 7, stand A02, from June 16 – 26.

About dna – drupa next age
dna stands for “drupa next age.” This special show is dedicated to future topics in the industry and to encouraging a productive exchange of experiences between global players, start-ups and innovative SMEs. Based on the Start-Up Area in the former drupa innovation park (dip!) and embedded in a new space concept, it gives innovators from the start-up scene an opportunity to introduce new product ideas, services and strategies for relevant crosscutting technologies, be it in the form of best practices or business case studies.

The drupa is the largest printing equipment exhibition in the world, held every 4 years at Messe Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The word drupa is a portmanteau of the German wordsdruck and papier; print and paper respectively.

“It has become very apparent in recent years that the appeal of print products is growing as the technology steadily advances. Print is conquering new dimensions with haptic elements, innovative materials and finishing techniques that engage the senses in previously
unknown ways for an entirely new experience.” – Sabine Geldermann, Director of drupa and Global Head of Print Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf.
