POLIMETAL TREATMENT STATION
The POLIMETAL treatment station is a universal treating station providing excellent surface treatments at very high speeds on all types of materials, including those that are very difficult to treat.
The POLIMETAL series is available in the single-sided and double-sided version and its models differ for the numebr of electrodes and roller diameters. The POLIMETAL model is equipped with electrodes and ceramic rollers.
POLIMETAL is perfect to improve the adhesion characteristics of both conductive and non-conductive materials: plastic and metallised films, paper, aluminium foil and laminates.
The main applications are extrusion, extrusion coating, flexo and gravure printing and laminating.
The Polimetal range includes four models: POLIMETAL KAPPA UNO, POLIMETAL KAPPA PLUS UNO, POLIMETAL KAPPA PLUS XL, POLIMETAL KAPPA PLUS DUE.
- Polimetal KAPPA UNO works for all converting applications for speeds up to 300 m/min;
- Polimetal KAPPA PLUS UNO is the most versatile, for speeds up to 450 m/min;
- Polimetal KAPPA PLUS XL works for materials which are more difficult to treat and for speeds up to 500 m/min;
- Polimetal KAPPA PLUS DUE is the fastest, for speeds up to 600 m/min.

BIKAPPA ROTARY TREATMENT STATION
The BIKAPPA ROTARY treatment station is a state-of-the-art, double-sided treatment station, suitable to be mounted on high-performance blown film extruders or flexographic printing presses in line with extruders.
The multiple segmented discharge electrodes, in aluminium or stainless steel, allow the treatment to be focused on certain areas. The BIKAPPA ROTARY range includes five models: BIKAPPA ROTARY 120, BIKAPPA ROTARY 150, BIKAPPA ROTARY 200, BIKAPPA SIMPLEX and BIKAPPA TUNNEL.
- BIKAPPA ROTARY 120 for all applications on blown film extruders with widths up to 2.800 mm and 120 mm roller diameters;

IN AIR PLASMA
IN AIR PLASMA treatment solves adhesion problems and enhances wettability properties of 3D plastic objects or small sections of two-dimensional plastic surfaces. This system is suitable to treat polymers, plastic materials, carboard boxes and metals.
The most common applications are printing (pad printing, silk screening, ink-jet printing, electrical cables coding), laminating (to improve the durability and reliability of gaskets, to apply glue on folder-gluer lines and for flocking on rubber and plastic) and cleaning (especially the removal of dust and grease from plastic, steel and metallic components).
The system includes a high-frequency generator with integrated transformer and one or two nozzles.
The LCD multilingual control panel, available in a remote box or integrated into the generator, ensures that all available functions can be carried out.

IN AIR CORONA treatment allows to treat non-conductive materials, such as three-dimensional plastic objects or two-dimensional plastic surfaces, as well as conductive materials, such as metallic components.
The corona discharge enhances the surface tension, thus improving the adhesion of inks, glues and coatings on three-dimensional plastic objects or two-dimensional plastic surfaces.
The IN AIR CORONA System is composed of a high-frequency digital generator with integrated transformer and one or two discharge heads.
The main applications are printing (ink-jet and pad printing especially), coding and marking (to improve code readability and to guarantee a long-lasting bond and label adhesion (especially to improve the adhesion of labels on 3-D objects).

OZONE DESTRUCTION SYSTEM: Ozo-no!
Ferrarini & Benelli has developed and manufactured Ozo-no!, an Ozone Destruction System enabling companies using Corona treatment to remain whitin the limits set by the law in terms of ozone emissions into the atmosphere.
Ferrarini & Benelli's ozone destruction system is based on a group of catalysts which reduce the ozone generated by the Corona discharge into oxygen.
Compared to other models, the system we employ to destry ozone is highly efficient, very durable, it allows to save electricity, thus preserving the environment and its maintenance costs are reduced.

Ferrarini & Benelli and the Streaming Roadshows experience
Ferrarini & Benelli took part in the Streaming Roadshows organised by Acimga (Italian manufacturers' association for the graphic, converting and paper industry) with the collaboration of the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The four online events involved Turkey, the United Kingdom, Egypt and Algeria.
Our General Manager, Claudia Benelli, discussed the topics of Sustainability, Industry 4.0, Digitalization and Innovation with foreign manufacturers and representatives from the printing, packaging and converting industries.

Digitalisation and Corona Treatment
Industry 4.0 is opening up new scenarios and opportunities in the field of Corona treatment.
Corona treatment is a surface treatment; a Corona treating station generally consists of a generator, a high-tension transformer, an electrode charged to high voltage and an ozone suction fan.
All mechanical parts of a Corona treating station, as well as its controls need to be integrated into the customer's production line. The integration of the control functions takes place by incorporating the remote controls of the Corona generator into the PLC of the line.
The traditional communication systems employed allow customers to choose which features they want to see and monitor.
Two main parameters affect the Corona treatment:
