As one of the world’s most respected marketing visionaries, Rory Sutherland has been described in the press as a “marketing legend”. All drupa 2024 visitors can already look forward to his keynote speech, aptly titled “There’s a reason we call it ‘Cheap Talk’. Print costs more than pixels – and that’s why it works so well!” All visitors to drupa 2024 can look forward to this today. The talk centres on the concept of costly signalling, which originates from biological research and has significant relevance to advertising, design and packaging. Put simply: the more money and effort you invest in communicating something, the more persuasively the message comes across. Rory will explain why print is more important than ever in the digital age – and why you wouldn’t invite anyone to your wedding by email!
